What is Bicast Leather?

BI-CAST – also known as Laminated leather

Split leather with a polymer coating bonded to the surface

The polymer coating is created as a separate layer and then applied with adhesives, rather than being applied by spraying several thin coats as in a finished  leather
This results in a very even finish with a very high shine and very smooth in appearance

The thickness of the polymer layer will determine whether it can be sold as leather
If the polymer layer is over 0.15mm it cannot be classed as leather in the UK and New Zealand and has to be labeled as Bicast or Laminated leather

Cleaning and Care:
Cleaning and protection are very important with Bicast and Laminated leather as the polymer coating can be quickly degraded by dirt and body oils

Protection:
Bicast or Laminated Leather should be protected with Bicast Protector as body oils are very damaging to the finish and will cause it to go sticky if allowed to dwell on the surface over a period of time

Cleaning:
Regular cleaning with Bicast Cleaner is important to remove body oils from the surface which over time will degrade the coating
